PILATES and PI-YO
Pilates is a body conditioning method developed by Joseph H. Pilates to simultaneously strengthen the center, lengthen the spine, build muscle tone and increase flexibility, while eliminating excess tension and strain on the joints. The focus is on strengthening and isolating your center or core abdominal area while releasing tension and lengthening; much like the conditioning of ballet dancers who are strong, lean and long, yet supple and elegant. Pilates will facilitate you in strengthening your muscles harmoniously, lengthen and stretch your muscles to correct your posture and move with lightness and confidence.
Pilates Class - is a multi-level class where all exercises are done on a mat. Highly recommended for those who wish to increase body awareness and strength which will enhance other sport activities and everyday life movements.
Pi-Yo Class - is a blend of Pilates strengthening and Yoga movement. This is the next natural progression after basic Pilates to introduce movement and body awareness through the techniques learned in basic Pilates. We also introduce Pilates awareness into every aspect of our everyday lives to further strengthen and preserve our bodies through efficient movement.
